On Sunday, September 14, 2025, Kim Eung Hwa & Korean Dance Company presented Hangawi: The Autumn Festival of Korea at The Ford in Los Angeles.

Part of the LA Soundscapes family series, the outdoor performance celebrated Hangawi—the Korean harvest festival—with traditional dance, percussion, and community participation. The program shared the energy and elegance of Korean cultural traditions through drum dance, fan dance, flower crown dance, and Ganggangsullae.

Before the performance, families joined LA Commons artists for hands-on cultural art activities. At 11:30 AM, the amphitheater came alive with colorful costumes, lively folk rhythms, and sweeping choreography that introduced the spirit of Chuseok to an audience of many backgrounds.

The performance emphasized the values at the heart of Hangawi: gratitude for the harvest, togetherness across generations, and the joy of gathering as a community. The dancers’ vibrant stage pictures and the audience’s enthusiastic response made the morning a memorable celebration of Korean heritage in Los Angeles.
