On January 7, 2025, Kim Eung Hwa & Korean Dance Academy welcomed the Year of the Snake with a Korean traditional dance performance at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa in Anaheim.

The performance was part of a media kickoff introducing Disneyland Resort’s 2025 Lunar New Year season. Rafu Shimpo reported that Kim Eung Hwa & Korean Dance Academy and the Chinese American band The Fortunes performed at the hotel event, where Disney representatives previewed the celebration’s entertainment and food.

Across the hotel ballroom and the soaring Great Hall, the dancers presented a vivid sequence of Korean dance with flowing silk sleeves, handheld drums, and flower fans. The movement, percussion, and brilliant hanbok brought Korean New Year traditions into the warm Craftsman-style setting of the Grand Californian.

Disney California Adventure’s public Lunar New Year celebration ran from January 17 through February 16, 2025. Disney’s official program honored Chinese, Vietnamese, and Korean traditions and included live performances, Mulan’s Lunar New Year Procession, the “Hurry Home” water presentation, seasonal food, and new Mickey and Minnie costumes inspired by traditional Korean attire.
