2025 March 1st Independence Movement Flash Mob
On March 1, 2025, Kim Eung Hwa Korean Dance Company commemorated the 106th anniversary of Korea’s March 1st Independence Movement with a Taegeukgi flag flash mob at Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles.
Wearing flowing white costumes accented with the red and blue colors of the Taegeukgi, the dancers raised Korean flags against the landmark architecture of downtown Los Angeles. The performance remembered the spirit of the nationwide independence demonstrations that began on March 1, 1919, and shared a message of freedom, peace, and Korean heritage with the wider community.
The 2025 anniversary was observed across Los Angeles by Korean American civic and historical organizations. Their commemorations encouraged younger generations and families to learn about the movement and carry forward its values of courage, unity, and self-determination.
